I recently
photographed a Greek Orthodox Christening. The parents take a back seat during
the ceremony with the god parents accompanying and preparing the baby through
the stages.
During
the first part, the congregation observed quietly. Later, just before
the baby got dipped into the water, people gathered around the pedestal,
taking pictures. The vibe was now more relaxed and more that of a big,
social gathering.
